Manic Panic was founded in July 7, 1977 in New York City by Tish and Snooky, both singers of the Blondie lineup. The founders collected their clothing patterned and opened the first American punk-style shop at St. Mark’s Place, NYC. The former Manic Panic boutique became a picture of the first generation punk, which erupted the punk scene in the late 70’s. Tish and Snooky’s design infused colors with hair dyes adapting rainbow shades paired with wild colors of nails, lips, eyes, and followed by icons and celebrities and coveted by the media. In 2000, global distribution of the line was sent to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Poland and Spain.
Manic Panic’s founders remains to manage some gigs for their singing career amidst the growing operations of the company. They continue to reunite punk styles with special occasion clothing. It was later when they decided to launch www.manicpanic.com to cater to their global clients.
